Syncro SVN Client Error during checkout Repository

Postby svn_user_2012 » Fri Jun 29, 2012 11:48 am

Hello we evaluate the Syncro SVN Client for our company.

We have a Repository which we can checkout with Tortoise SVN without any errors.
If we checkout this Repository with the Visual SVN Client we received the following error:
Operation failed: svn: Cannot create new file
'C:\Repository\Repo1\tags\3.0.1 \.svn\lock': The system cannot find the path

Following system we use:
- VisualSVN Server 2.5.5 for our Repositories
Subversion 1.7.5

- OS == MS Windows XP SP3
Syncro SVN Client 7.2, build 2012031510 (Trialversion)

It is very strange, because the same Repository is able to checkout with TortoiseSVN 1.7.7.

Have somebody a idea what is the problem?

Thanks a lot.

Hello,

Unfortunately, we don't have any idea about what could happen. But, please try the following:

  • is there any issue if you try to browse the repository or if you try to checkout any other folder, which is not too large (a couple of files only)?!

  • please check that Syncro SVN Client is ran with all necessary rights to write in the specified location (C:\...);

  • try to change the location where to checkout (for example, "D:\..." if possible);

  • try to download the SVNKit library (which Syncro SVN Client uses internally) and use these steps to configure it:
    • add the path to the bin directory of SVNKit to the PATH environment variable;
    • set the JAVA_HOME environment variable to point to a valid JRE/JDK;
    • if everything is set OK, type in Command Prompt window:
      Code: Select all
      jsvn --version

      Should print 1.7.5 and other stuff.

    After, use the internal SVNKit command-line client from a Command Prompt window to checkout from the same repository address to the same location you tried previously:
    Code: Select all
    jsvn checkout SOURCE_URL LOCAL_DESTINATION

    Let us know if the library's internal command-line client works.

Best Regards,
