repo url issue

Having trouble installing Syncro SVN Client? Got a bug to report? Post it all here.

repo url issue

Postby charrington » Sat Feb 02, 2008 7:31 pm

I am adding the use of syncro SVN into an existing working folder. The current working folder has an SVN url of the form
svn+ssh//[USER]@svn.comp.com/...

where [USER] is my username.
I tried putting that URL into syncro, but it removed the {USER]@ part.

When I try to checkout, I get the error "[FOLDER] is already a working copy for a different URL"

How to fix/proceed?

Thanks,
Chris

Hello,

If you already have a local working copy of a SVN repository that you checked out previously you should just add the working copy to the Working Copy view by clicking on the button Add/Remove Working Copy of the toolbar of the Working Copy view and adding the root folder of your working copy to the list in the dialog Working copies list.

You should check out a local working copy of your SVN repository only if you do not have such a working copy already checked out on the local computer.

For what it's worth, this is supremely unobvious. I'm trying this out, and I just spent 10 minutes trying to figure out how to point SyncroSVN to my existing working copies. It really should be in the Working Copy menu, and not just on some unlabeled icon.

Hello,

Yes, the action Add/Remove Working Copy should be easy to find if we add it to the Working Copy menu too. Right now it is available only on the toolbar of the Working Copy view which we considered the first place where you would look for it. Thank you for your remark.
