Too Many Grey Arrows

Postby JasonMPerry » Tue May 12, 2009 5:34 pm

Hi Syncro Team,

Two of our developers are experiencing a problem with Suncro SVN Client 4.1, build 2008121815.

Take a case where 3 files are changed. When synchronizing folders for that working copy, or "refreshing" so see the files that were changed, ALL the files and folders (in our case, dozens of folders and hundreds of files) are displaying grey arrows indicating they all need commits, when only 3 do. The only way to eliminate all the arrows is either to commit all the hundreds of files, or to "revert" them - which is disasterous.

This is happening inconsistently, and frequently. We have recreated the working copies, checked out new copies, and done everything else we can think of to solve this bizzare problem. We even checked our anti-virus settings, backup software settings, clock settings, and anything else we could think of. The source code is acting like something is touching the files, but when we look at them, nothing is changed. Not even the time stamp.

Can you help?

Thanks,
Jason Perry

Hello,

Depending on your platform there is more than one timestamp for a file. Do you mean that the modification timestamp is the same before and after all the files are marked as modified? A file is marked as modified only if the modified timestamp is more recent than the timestamp of the last Update or Synchronize action.

Please stop the anti-virus application not just disable some functions (exit the anti-virus application, that is no anti-virus module loaded in memory), stop other applications that may modify the files of the working copy and try again. If that does not solve the problem we need steps for reproducing the problem.
