Hi,

Syncro SVN Client is based on SVNKit library for Subversion related operations. So, supporting SVN 1.7 depends on SVNKit team (the official release is announced for end of December 2011).

Anyway, we started to work with alpha versions and a major effort for maintaining compatibility with previous SVN versions is needed, since some features need to be re-written for the new SVN 1.7 working copy format.

In the best case, an official release of Syncro SVN Client with SVN 1.7 support will be available in Spring 2012.

Hi,

The SVNKit library was officially released last month (in April).
Meanwhile, we used alpha & beta versions, so we are almost done.
Unfortunately, not all features of SVN 1.7 will be included (like "svn patch", since the SVNKit developers need more time to implement it) and other minor stuff.

Syncro SVN Client will support SVN 1.7 within one month.
Compatibility with SVN 1.6 will be maintained.

What's the current status on this? My understanding is that 1.7 is not yet fully supported (tools like ankhsvn do support it).

I've not been able to use Syncro since SVN 1.7 came out and my client switched; my maintenance is expiring in 14 days...

Hi,

We finished the implementation stage regarding the established things to do and Syncro SVN Client is in the final stage - testing.

The "svn patch" feature will not be supported yet, since the underlying library does not offer support for it at this time.

Regarding this:
I've not been able to use Syncro since SVN 1.7 came out ...

Can you tell why exactly? Syncro SVN Client 7.2 is able to communicate with SVN 1.7 repositories, so there should be no problem in updating or committing from your old SVN 1.6 working copy. Switching to an SVN 1.7 working copy does not adds any extra goodies or features to what SVN 1.6 already has, since SVN 1.7 has (almost) the same commands and options as SVN 1.6.
So, you can checkout SVN 1.6 working copies from SVN 1.7 repositories and work as usual without any problem.

Anyway, in about 2 weeks, Syncro SVN Client 8 should be released, with support for SVN 1.7 working copies.

Hi,

sorry for coming back to you so late.

There are several reasons that led me to use 1.7:

- (most important) almost all of my customers switched to svn 1.7
- some programmers in the team seemed to have problem with subversion pathes upon switch, which in 1.7 has ancestry checks.
- Improved merge tracking
- file name case changes on windows machines...

Best regards,
Stefan

Hi,

OK, I understand.

Unfortunately, there was a new delay because of the release of a new version of our company's main product - oXygen XML Editor v14.
Syncro SVN Client 8 will be released in a couple of days.
