My working copies dissapeared

Hi,

I have been using SyncroSVN for a while. Lately sometimes all my working copies suddenly dissapear.

Since I have quite a lot of projects, this is behavior, which does not always happens, can be quite annoying. Is there a fix for this? Or a workaround? For me, it would be "good enough" to know where the information about working copies is stored, so that I make a backup of it.

Thanks

Hello,

The list of working copies available in the combo box of the Working Copy view and the current working copy are stored in the user preferences. Do you login with different user names on the computer when you use Syncro SVN Client? The user preferences are stored in the home folder of the user so each user has a different set of preferences.

If you login on the computer with the same user name and Syncro SVN Client does not display an error message when you start it and when it should reload the last working copy that you accessed with it then please contact us to tell you how to enable logging to get more details about running Syncro SVN Client on your computer.

Sorin

I have the same problem.

I started Syncro SVN (6.2) today and for some reason, it showed the licensing window so I copied my licensing info (from 5.1 that I bought last December) from the email. After that, it went to the main interface but all my repositories and working copies are gone.

There is only 1 user account on this Mac (Snow Leopard).

Hello,

Did you run Syncro SVN Client 6.2 for the first time after previously using version 5.1?

Usually, a new version of Syncro SVN Client automatically imports setting and options from the previous version and it does not alter in any way the settings file of the older version.
Cases in which a new version may not be able to import settings from older versions should be extremely rare, because we always test and make sure to keep backward compatibility.
There is also the possibility that the old options file to be corrupted somehow, but this can be testet if starting again the older version of Syncro SVN Client and seeing if it has everything like before or not.

The files holding application settings and user options of Syncro SVN Client are located in Library/Preferences/com.syncrosvnClient. If would be OK if you could look in the preferences directory and send us the file corresponding to Syncro SVN Client 5.1 - named oxyOptionsSvn5.1.xml. This way, we can analyze it and test to see if somehow there may be an incompatibility between these two versions of Syncro SVN Client.
Our support e-mail is: support@syncrosvnclient.com .

As far as we tested, there should be no problems for Syncro SVN Client 6.2 to import options from version 5.1 when it is ran for the first time. After, it will use its internal options and a new configuration file to make them persistent between different sessions.

I don't see any oxyOptionsSvn5.1.xml.

This is not the first time I've started 6.2 but I think I might have a clue of what happened.

When I first upgraded to v6, I renamed my Applications/SyncroSVN to SyncroSVN5 and put v6 in SyncroSVN. I recently deleted the SyncroSVN5 directory using AppCleaner, assuming that v6 had imported all necessary data but I think AppCleaner also removed the v6 files in ~/Library/Preferences/com.syncrosvnclient.

Hi,

All application configuration files are kept in the previously mentioned location, for all versions of Syncro SVN Client. Each file has the application version in its name, so for each version of Syncro SVN Client there should be a configuration file.
Given that Syncro SVN Client does not have an installation kit for Mac OS X, the configuration files remain there even if you delete the application and you have to remove them manually also.
If you don't find the 5.1 configuration file and the AppCleaner also removed the Syncro SVN Client options directory, then all your options (from any version) were lost. Further more, your license is kept there also, so I assume this is why it asked you about your user license also.

In the end, it seems that there is no issue regarding the portability of the options from older versions to newer ones.
