Switching between working copies with large ignore dirs

Hi,
we are having troubles with the long waiting/scanning time when we switch from one working copy to an other. We have detected that the problem has something to do with some of the ignored folders inside the project. When we clear the content inside an ignored folder (eg. the product image folder with more then 10.000 images) it is working fine.
The projects are on a network share, and we need these folder to do some real testing, which is fine because we can ignore them within the svn project. What I do not understand is why SyncroSVNclient also seems to scan the complete content of ignored folders... Why? The folder is ignored, so it doesn't have to look for what's beneath ?
Is there perhaps some setting which can force the client to completely ignore a folder?
Some advise please, our support department is suffering with this while they have to switch between working copies several times a day, with waiting times of more then 10 minutes sometimes...
