When only the history entries which contain a specified substring need to be displayed in the
History view the filter field displayed at the top of this view is
the perfect fit. Just enter the search string in the field next to the label
Find. Only the items with an author name, commit message, revision
number or date which match the search string are kept in the History
view. The filter action is executed and the content of the table is updated when
the button 
Search is
pressed.
